Therefore I test my connection with OOKLA and nPerf several times every day, and compare results with my TrueNet stats. In summary, I am a compulsive tester mmmm. that is one use, but I expect there are many others to drive the test numbers they see.
Beta UI i suppose? They have an extensive list of servers somehow i doubt they have had some upgrade to support some beta. Whether they actually changed the way the speedtest is delivered or what ever. So under the hood id assume its the same.

I have to say the Spark speedtest servers are probably the best in NZ . I'm in Wellington on VF HFC cable (which suffers from evening congestion), and regularly test: 1. OOKLA speedtest to VF Wellington server - this tends to give the "fastest" result . 2. Ookla are the default standard and once you remove the local issues (wifi, rubbish browser, outdated hardware, uploading to iCloud at the same time etc), it's an easy test for end users to run and gives them a number that they understand. According to Ookla speedtest, tested at several different times of day I get from 90-420Mbps down, and pretty consistently 475 up.
